You file by appointment at the Immigration Office or police station in your province, or at a Spanish consulate abroad. We prepare the file.

Decision: five days from the date the application enters the register (art. 205.4 RD 1155/2024); if it passes with no reply, silence is negative and the application is deemed refused. Waiting for an appointment does not count. On the consular route the fee is the one each consulate sets in local currency and is paid there.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get a NIE without padrón registration or a residence permit?
Yes.
You only need to prove an economic, professional or social interest (art. 205.1 RD 1155/2024). Only people who are in Spain irregularly are excluded.
How long does it take?
The law gives the authorities five days from the date the application enters the register.
The wait for an appointment does not count: it is the longest phase and varies by office. Many hand over the certificate on the day. If the deadline passes with no reply, silence is negative and the application is deemed refused: that is why we follow the file. If your deed has a date, order as soon as possible.
Do I have to travel to Spain?
For the police appointment, yes; there are two alternatives.
If you cannot travel, you file the same dossier at the Spanish consulate in your country — each consulate sets its own fee in local currency, charges it at the appointment and runs its own booking channel — or you authorise someone with an apostilled notarial power of attorney that expressly covers the NIE. Tell us when you order.
Which document proves the reason?
A verifiable one: deposit contract, purchase offer, notary letter, inheritance papers, employment contract or study admission.
A generic statement is not accepted and cannot be fixed on the spot: you have to book another appointment. That is why we draft it from your document before the appointment.
I'm British. Is this my page?
Yes, unless you were legally resident in Spain before 31-12-2020.
Since Brexit you apply as a non-EU citizen, with the EX-15. If you are a Withdrawal Agreement beneficiary — legally resident in Spain before that date — you already have a NIE and your document is the article 18.4 TIE, not this procedure. If you pick the wrong service, we spot it when we check your passport and switch it before paying the fee.
We are two buyers. Do we need two NIEs?
Yes, one per person.
The Land Registry will not register the deed without the tax number of every buyer, even one who will not live in Spain. Minors too; their legal representative signs. Order one procedure per person.
Is VAT charged? Can I cancel?
VAT yes, for everyone; and you have 14 calendar days to withdraw.
You see it itemised before you pay. If you ask us to start immediately and then withdraw before we finish, you pay only for the part already provided — the fee paid and the steps taken; the right is lost once the service has been fully performed (art. 103.a TRLGDCU).
